Our speciality is locally sourced fresh meat, including our own British White beef, together with rare breed and organically reared stock. All prepared for you in our butchery department by skilled butchers in the traditional way and cut to your requirements. Our Fresh Meat counter also offers Free Range chickens reared by local poultry farmers in Cardington village; tasty Woburn venison and a seasonal supply of local game such as pheasant and partridge; and along with other delights, an innovative range of flavoured handmade sausages and dry-cured bacon.
A selection of seasonal fruit and vegetables always available. Summerhill favours organically grown quality produce, buying where possible from local growers ensuring that the vegetables we sell to you are fresh and of known source.
Freshly baked bread, cakes and pastries supplied daily by skilled bakers and confectioners at nearby Ampthill.
The delicatessen counter is brimming with tempting British cheeses, cooked meats, olives and savouries, plus fresh sandwiches made to order.
Wines, beers & ciders available at Summerhill include award winning English wines from Warden Abbey, Bedfordshire's only vineyard; together with the best of locally brewed bottled beers and ciders.
Wilstead suppliers Windmill Foods will be delivering fresh milk, cream and dairy products direct to our barn doors daily. Large and medium eggs, free range of course, and courtesy A&G Murdoch of Cardington. We also stock Glebe Farm organic bread mixes and flours for our customers who prefer to home bake.
Expect to find a vast array of accompaniments to dress all the products on offer from Bedfordshire Honey, Traffic Jam, Farrington's oils, hot horseradish, mint jelly, devils mustard and from Chawston in Bedfordshire, Edible Ornamentals' range of fresh chilli products.
