Locally-reared meat

We have our own rare-breed British White beef from a small herd on the Southill Estate - the cattle are entirely grass-fed, ensuring the best natural meat.  Other local beef of a similar quality is sourced to supplement our own. Lamb (Cardington), pork (St Neots) and chicken (Cardington) are all sourced from local farms.

Great British Wines

Warden Abbey, Bedfordshire’s only working vineyard, is located a short distance from Summerhill Farm Shop and provides fine wines that have consistently won awards for their quality and flavour.

Fresh bread, fruit and vegetables

The Cottage Bakery of Ampthill, established over 20 years ago, delivers freshly baked bread every day along with cakes, fruit pies and quiches for the deli counter.  L B Stewart & Son of Bromham are now supplying vegetables grown themselves or sourced locally along with locally grown fruit.

Local Produce

An extensive range of handmade products are sourced from within fifty miles of Summerhill – the selection is growing all the time as new suppliers are found.  There are biscuits from Willington, preserves and chutneys from Flitwick and chilli products from Chawston to name but a few.

The Deli

The deli counter is beginning to bow under the weight of the new and exciting range of delicious British cheeses.  The old favourites are still available but look out for interesting additions each week as well as regular guest cheeses.  You will always be welcome to “try before your buy” to make sure you get the perfect cheese for any occasion.
