Fresh Bread

The Cottage Bakery of Ampthill, established over 20 years ago, delivers freshly baked bread every day.  The selection includes a choice of ready sliced loaves in white, wholegrain and Low GI (glycemic index) multigrain, unsliced bloomers, rolls and, at the weekend, speciality breads such as Olive Ciabatta.

As well as fresh bread, Cottage Bakery supply delicious fruit pies with short crust pastry, cakes and scones.

Fresh Fruit and Vegetables

Summerhill has been very fortunate to have recently found L B Stewart & Son of Bromham. Not only does Paul Stewart’s business grow many vegetables on site in Bromham but anything they don’t grow themselves, is sourced from farms around Bedfordshire and the surrounding counties.

The Stewart’s own crops include corn on the cob, marrows, various beautiful lettuces and stick beans to name but a few – and these are picked just before they are delivered to the farm shop.  The cucumbers come from Blunham, tomatoes from Sharnbrook, apples and pears from Bluntisham and broccoli from a little further away in Spalding, Lincolnshire.

The range, quality and value are all greatly improved by sourcing so locally.
